Inmate escapes outside Kingman, Arizona courthouse
KINGMAN, Ariz. — An Arizona inmate is on the run and sheriff’s deputies say he is dangerous and possibly armed.
Darren Eugene Morrison, 26, escaped from a transport van in Kingman after arriving at the Mohave County Superior Court Wednesday morning, according to the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office.
Morrison, of Bullhead City, was expected in court on charges of failure to appear and aggravated assault.
Authorities believe he may have had outside help during the escape and said there were reports of a low-rider station wagon in the area.
Morrison is described as white, 6 feet 3 inches tall, 195 pounds, with brown hair and green eyes. At the time of the escape, Morrison was wearing a prison-issue orange jumpsuit, but Kingman police said he may have changed into a camouflage outfit.
